United Global Alliance Ltd (“United Global Alliance”, “UGA”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of professionals who express an interest in joining our Consultant Network or being considered for advisory, consulting, project and other professional engagements.
This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information when you submit a professional profile to the United Global Alliance Consultant Network or otherwise engage with us in relation to potential professional opportunities.

2. Information we may collect
When you submit your professional profile or communicate with us about potential engagements, we may collect information including:
your name and professional contact details;
country of residence and general location;
LinkedIn profile or other professional profile information you choose to provide;
current or previous professional roles and organisations;
CV or professional résumé;
professional experience, qualifications, skills and areas of expertise;
industries, sectors and geographic markets in which you have experience;
languages;
professional availability and preferred engagement arrangements;
indicative professional rates, where voluntarily provided;
information contained in correspondence with us;
information you voluntarily include in your CV or application; and
technical and submission information associated with the application process.
We ask that you do not provide special category or other highly sensitive information unless we specifically request it and there is a legitimate and lawful reason for doing so.
In particular, please do not include unnecessary information concerning your health, racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, trade union membership, genetic or biometric information, sexual orientation, criminal convictions, passport or national identification numbers, or financial account information in your initial Consultant Network submission.
3. Why we use your information
We may use your personal information to:
receive and review your professional profile;
assess your expertise, experience and potential suitability for relevant opportunities;
maintain and manage the United Global Alliance Consultant Network;
identify professionals whose expertise may align with current or future client requirements;
contact you about potentially relevant advisory, consulting or project engagements;
discuss your availability, experience, commercial terms or potential participation in an engagement;
manage our relationship and communications with you;
establish, negotiate or administer a professional engagement where appropriate;
maintain appropriate business, compliance and administrative records;
protect our legitimate business interests and establish, exercise or defend legal claims where necessary; and
comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Our lawful bases for processing
Depending on the circumstances, we may process your personal information on one or more of the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR:
Legitimate interests. We have a legitimate business interest in developing and maintaining a network of qualified independent professionals, evaluating professional expertise, responding to client requirements and identifying appropriate expertise for potential engagements.
When relying on legitimate interests, we consider whether our interests are necessary and proportionate and balance them against your interests, rights and freedoms.
Steps before entering into a contract and performance of a contract. Where you ask us to consider you for a particular engagement, or where we progress discussions towards an engagement with you, processing may be necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract with you.
Legal obligation. We may process certain information where necessary to comply with applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other obligations.
ICO guidance confirms that organisations must identify an appropriate lawful basis for processing and that legitimate interests can be appropriate in circumstances where an organisation has a legitimate purpose, subject to the required necessity and balancing assessment.
5. Consultant Network and future opportunities
Submitting your professional profile allows United Global Alliance to consider your expertise for relevant current or future opportunities.
Submission of a profile, inclusion within the Consultant Network or communication with United Global Alliance does not constitute an offer of employment, consultancy engagement, partnership or other contractual relationship and does not guarantee that an engagement will be offered.
Where we identify a potential opportunity that may be relevant to you, we may contact you to discuss your interest, availability and suitability before progressing further.
6. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share personal information where reasonably necessary with:
authorised personnel working for or on behalf of United Global Alliance;
service providers supporting our website, application forms, communications, document storage, technology or business administration;
professional advisers, including legal, accounting or compliance advisers where appropriate;
regulatory, governmental or law-enforcement authorities where required by law; and
prospective or existing clients where this is appropriate in connection with a potential engagement.
Where appropriate, we will normally contact you before presenting your professional profile or CV to a prospective client in connection with a specific opportunity.
7. Service providers
We use selected third-party service providers to support our operations.
For example, our Consultant Network application may be provided through Jotform, which processes application information and uploaded documents on our behalf in connection with the operation of the form.
We may also use providers supporting website hosting, email communications, secure document storage, accounting, payment processing and other legitimate business functions.
Where another organisation processes personal information on our behalf, we take appropriate steps to ensure that the processing is subject to suitable contractual and data protection safeguards.
8. International transfers
United Global Alliance operates internationally and some of our service providers, clients or professional relationships may be located outside the United Kingdom.
As a result, personal information may in certain circumstances be processed in, accessed from or transferred to countries outside the United Kingdom.
Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or other applicable safeguard.
Where appropriate, you may contact us for further information about the safeguards applicable to transfers of your personal information.
9. How long we keep your information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with our legal, regulatory and legitimate business requirements.
Profiles held within the United Global Alliance Consultant Network will normally be reviewed after 24 months to determine whether the information remains accurate, relevant and appropriate to retain.
We may contact you to invite you to update your professional information or confirm your continued interest in remaining within the Consultant Network.
Information may be deleted earlier where it is no longer required or where an appropriate request for deletion is made.
Certain records may need to be retained for longer where required for contractual, legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution or compliance purposes.
10. Keeping your information secure
We take appropriate organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse.
Access to Consultant Network information is intended to be limited to persons who require it for legitimate business purposes.
However, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights including the right to:
request access to personal information we hold about you;
request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
request deletion of your personal information;
request restriction of certain processing;
object to processing based on legitimate interests;
receive certain personal information in a portable format where the right to data portability applies; and
withdraw consent where we specifically rely on consent for a particular processing activity.
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
These rights are not absolute and their application depends on the circumstances and the lawful basis on which information is processed.

14. Automated decision-making
We do not currently use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects in determining whether a professional is selected for an engagement.
Professional profiles may be organised, searched or filtered according to relevant professional criteria, but engagement decisions are subject to human assessment.
15. Changes to this Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our processing activities, legal requirements, technology or business operations.
